Ravelon Agent and AI coding agents
Let the Ravelon Agent propose commands for your servers, and start coding agents such as Codex or Claude Code side by side.
Set up an AI provider#
AI features need a provider. Add one under Settings → AI providers → Add provider. Provider addresses must use https, except for providers on your own computer. Provider profiles are stored encrypted on this device and are not synced.
Ravelon Agent#
Open the Workspace, click Connections and tools and choose Ravelon Agent. Describe a task, for example "check disk space on my web servers". The agent knows your saved hosts, groups, tags and open terminals. It proposes commands for one or several terminals, connects to hosts and reads the results to plan the next step.
Safety rules:
- Nothing runs without your click. Each proposed command shows whether it only reads or can change the system.
- A command that can change the system needs an additional confirmation: you type
RUNbefore it starts. - Blocked commands cannot be run at all. Insert only types a command into the terminal without pressing Enter.
- The agent never sees your passwords or keys. Ravelon removes known secrets and common token formats from everything it sends.
- When a command asks for a password, the agent stops and reports it. It never answers the prompt.
- Share terminal output controls whether recent terminal output is sent with the task.
The conversation is kept in your vault. ⌘J on macOS or Ctrl+J on Windows and Linux asks the AI about the text you selected in a terminal.
AI coding agents#
AI Agents in the Workspace tab strip opens 1 to 8 sessions of Codex, Claude Code, Gemini CLI or OpenCode, in a new tab, to the right or below. Pick a project folder first. The selected CLI must already be installed on this computer.
Under Settings → AI providers → AI agents you can adjust the built-in agents or click Add agent for another command-line agent, with its program, arguments, icon and optional provider. API keys are handed to the agent when it starts and are never typed into the terminal. Only select a provider for a CLI you trust. Agent definitions and provider credentials stay on this device.
Ravelon Voice#
The Voice button in the title bar starts a spoken conversation. It needs an OpenAI API profile with access to the required models, and API charges are separate from ChatGPT subscriptions. Voice can open panes, editors and workspaces for you. It inserts shell commands for you to review but never runs them. Transcripts stay in memory and are not saved.
